WIRB-­Copernicus Group to Participate In PRIM&R Advancing Ethical Research Conference

Princeton, NJ (November [5], 2013): The WIRB-­‐Copernicus Group (“WCG”), the world’s largest provider of regulatory and ethical review services for clinical research, announced its participation at the Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) “Advancing Ethical Research” (AER) Conference, to be held in Boston, Massachusetts from November 7-­‐9, 2013. WCG will also launch WCG Academy, its sophisticated on-­‐line learning solution, at the conference.

WCG is a Platinum sponsor of the AER conference and a supporter of this year’s International Scholarship Program, which offers full and partial conference tuition waivers, as well as airfare and meal stipends for Institutional Review Board (IRB)/Research Ethics Committee (REC) staff members and researchers who are based in low-­‐ and middle-­‐income countries across Africa, Asia, South America and Europe.

Dr. McNair will give a presentation entitled, “Cutting Edge Science in the Operating Room: Ethical Issues in Surgical Innovation and Research,” and participate in a panel discussing “Innovations in Research on Controversial Topics.” Dr. Forster will appear on several panels, including “Essential Elements of Ethics: A Rigorous Method for Ensuring Key Ethical Issues Have Been Incorporated Into Your Protocol.”

WCG will have a booth at the conference, at which the nationally recognized members of its consulting arm will be available for on-­‐site consultation. WCG will also be offering demonstrations of its new WCG Academy, which is being offered in partnership with UL, and powered by UL’s FDA-­‐cleared ComplianceWire technology.
