WIRB-Copernicus Group Thought Leader to Discuss Clinical Trial Site Performance Metrics at ACRP 2016 Meeting and Expo

PRINCETON, N.J., April 13, 2016 – WIRB-Copernicus Group® (WCG™), one of the world’s leading providers of solutions that measurably improve the quality and efficiency of clinical research, today announced that its President of Institutions and Institutional Services, Stuart Horowitz, PhD, MBA, will be presenting at the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) 2016 Meeting and Expo, which will be held from April 16-19 in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Horowitz will serve as the moderator for session 3-7, entitled: “Site Performance Report Cards: What’s Fair?” on April 17 from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

As the biopharmaceutical industry strives to accelerate drug and medical device research, while maintaining the highest safety and ethical standards, sites are under greater scrutiny and having their performance assessed in multiple ways. This panel will discuss what data are or should be collected, the accuracy of that data, and how they are being analyzed.

“Metrics play a useful role in site selection by enabling sponsors to distinguish high-performing organizations from those that require process or training improvements,” said Dr. Horowitz. “During this panel discussion, we will identify which metrics are truly valuable and which ones simply place a burden on sites without providing important information.”

Dr. Horowitz will moderate an expert discussion on site metrics with fellow panelists Christine Pierre, president of the Society for Clinical Research Sites; Cerdi Beltre, director of data strategy and business development at Merge Healthcare, an IBM Company; and Jonathan Zung, group president, Clinical Development and Commercialization Services at Covance.

Dr. Horowitz has 30 years of experience leading and building sustainable biomedical and healthcare research programs. He has also advised numerous institutions on how to build and improve research programs throughout the US and the Middle East.
