Biography
Barbara E. Bierer, MD, a hematologist-oncologist, is professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS). She leads the Multi-Regional Clinical Trials Center (MRCT) at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard, aiming to strengthen international clinical trial standards. In addition, she is director of SMART IRB and Harvard Catalyst’s Regulatory Foundations, Ethics, and Law program, and previously served as senior vice-president, research, Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
