WIRB-Copernicus Group’s Dr. Stuart Horowitz to Present at 4th Annual DPharm: Disruptive Innovations to Advance Clinical Trials Conference
PRINCETON, N.J., Sept. 11, 2014 – WIRB-Copernicus Group (WCG), the world’s largest provider of regulatory and ethical review services for clinical research, announced today that Stuart Horowitz, PhD, MBA, its president of institutions and institutional services, will be speaking at the 4th Annual DPharm: Disruptive Innovations to Advance Clinical Trials Conference being held Sept. 11-12 in Boston, MA.
On Friday, Sept. 12 at 11:50 am EDT, Dr. Horowitz will join industry professionals in a panel discussion entitled: “Disrupting Trial Patient Compensation.” This session will discuss how best to revise the standard practices of sponsors allocating funds for patient payments in site budgets, sites processing countless paper check requests, and patients waiting weeks to receive their checks, and often incurring check-cashing fees.
“Patient compensation is a vital part of the clinical research process – one that deserves an efficient, effective, and equitable solution for participants,” says Horowitz. “Our objectives are to demonstrate to our peers the key strategic factors impeding clinical trial productivity, and then commit to providing solutions that promote change.”
Serving as WCG President of Institutions and Institutional Services, Dr. Horowitz is responsible for the organization’s consulting, data and safety monitoring, and international services. In this role, he focuses on the development of institutional research enterprises, while assisting in the creation and growth of clinical research programs.
